Are You a Polynesia Addict?
Everyone knows the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. But for Polynesia Addicts, is this an addiction we want to “recover” from? I would say NO – hmm, I guess that means I’m still in denial…
Wondering if you’re a Polynesia Addict? Here are 7 signs of an addict:
1. You visited a Polynesian island and felt overwhelmingly depressed sitting at the airport waiting for your flight back “home” (in quotes because we addicts know your real home is in Polynesia!).
2. While visiting a Polynesian island, you’ve seriously contemplated how to stay there forever. Some thoughts that may cross your mind: “That abandoned shack by the water looks pretty sturdy. So what if it has no windows, doors, or running water?” Or “I could totally build my own shelter and live off coconuts and fish (I saw Bear Grylls do it and it didn’t look too hard).”
3. You play Polynesian music in your house to ease the withdrawal symptoms of not being back on the island.
4. You look for ways to “Polynesia-ize” your house, from putting up a hammock in the backyard to installing a thatch roof to buying sheets and pillows in colorful pareo prints.
5. You’re constantly looking for airfare and hotel deals to various Polynesian destinations.
6. You visit sites like www.privateislandsonline.com, just in case you win the lottery.
7. You’re already planning and counting down the days/months/years to your next trip back to paradise.
