Hawaiian Airlines has a fun little quiz on their site called “What Island Am I?” Just answer 5 simple questions and it’ll tell you which Hawaiian Island suits you best.

According to the quiz I am Kauai, also known as “The Garden Isle”.  I guess Kauai suits me pretty well – it’s laid back, peaceful and offers beautiful scenery. Sounds like the perfect getaway!

Condé Nast Traveler 2009 Readers’ Choice Awards

October 28th, 2009 No comments

Condé Nast Traveler has announced the winners of its 2009 Readers’ Choice Awards. It comes as no surprise that the beautiful Polynesian islands made it onto their lists, especially the popular island of Hawaii.

In the “Top Islands” list, top honors went to Maui while Kauai placed second. Only 11 islands worldwide received a rating of 80 or higher – not surprisingly, 6 were Polynesian.

In the overall “Top 100″ list which includes hotels, resorts and cruise lines, Polynesia also placed strongly, mainly with the Four Seasons Resorts in Hawaii. Polynesian hotels and resorts that made the Top 100 list are:

#3 Blanket Bay Hotel in South Island, New Zealand

#24 Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea in Maui, Hawaii

#54 Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka’upulehu in Big Island, Hawaii

#97 (tie) Four Seasons Resort Lana’i, The Lodge at Koele in Lanai, Hawaii
